Mission/Role

To ensure equitable and quality health care services to Armed Forces personnel, their families and other entitled persons during peace and war.
To ensure the general administration of the medical officers, Dental officers and Nursing officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces including commissioning, grant Permanent Regular Commission, post- graduate and specialist training.
To ensure post-graduate or any advance training of AMC, ADC & AFNS officers in home and abroad and for the award of specialist classification to them.
To ensure timely procurement, storage and supply of all medical supplies including electromedical equipment and for controlling their issue to need of each of three armed forces.
To prepare the budget estimates for his own Directorate general for all medical stores of the three services and for any specialized units which may be placed directly under his administration.
To ensure policy directions to Armed Forces Medical stores Depot, Armed Forces Institute of pathology, Armed Forces Food and Drugs Laboratories and Armed Forces Medical Institute .
To generate health awareness to Armed Forces personnel during any epidemic or emergency situation.
To ensure maternity, child health and family planning services among Armed Forces personnel.
