  1. Acquisition, storage, distribution, use and disposal of medical store in an effective & economic way. The medical store procedure involves budgeting, forecasting of demand, planning, purchasing, receipt, inspection, storage, issue, distribution, usage, maintenance, disposal and prevention of wastage and pilferage. Medical stores and equipment's are essential element to achieve the objective of medical services. Therefore it is important to have enough supply on hand to meet everyday needs as well as any emergency.
  2. Procurement of Medicine and Vaccine. Lifesaving drugs, medical appliances, medicines, vaccines are procured for the Armed Forces personnel, their families and other authorized persons through Directorate General of Defense Purchase.
  3. Purchase & repair of Electro-Medical Equipments. Electro-medical equipments for all combined military hospitals, Field Medical Units and other medical centers are purchased through Directorate General of Defense Purchase. Those electro-medical equipments are distributed to the concerned medical units by this Directorate General on demand. Steps are also taken by this Directorate General to repair those electro-medical equipments as and when required. This Directorate General maintains constant communication with all national and foreign companies to keep the instruments of different CMHs functional.
