  1. Collection of statistics regarding hospital admission & discharge, nutritional disorders.
  2. Preserve the annual statistics of morbidity, mortality and invalidments in the Armed Forces along with the causes.
  3. Assist in formulation of policy regarding entitlement to medical attendance of personnel of all categories and their families in the Armed Forces.
  4. Assist in formulation of hospitalization policy and along with bed authorization in various Combined Military Hospitals of Armed Forces.
  5. Provide expenditure of treatment & investigations outside Combined Military Hospital but inside country for serving personnel of the Armed Forces.
  6. Issues instructions time to time in preventing infectious diseases.
  7. Review and updates of hospital documentation in the Armed Forces.
  8. Prepare technical instruction for disposal of diseases.
  9. Prepare administrative instructions for smooth management of hospital.
  10. Scruitinization and final disposal of fatal case documents.
  11. Convey special medical board for treatment abroad of serving personnel of Armed Forces.
  12. Convey special medical board for up-categorization of IHD.
  13. Research & Development Activities of Armed Forces:
    i)Technical approval of research protocol and grant of fund from R&D fund.
    ii)Disease related research.
    iii)Research on prevention of infectious diseases.
    iv)Research on hospital organization and infrastructure development
  14. Maternity Child Health and Family Planning (MCH&FP):
    i)Deals with matters on maternity, child health and family planning activities in the Armed Forces and also keep coordination with Ministry of Health & Family Planning authorities time to time.
    ii)Preserve the yearly MCH&FP activities data of Armed Forces and completed information is sent to Ministry of Health & Family Planning.
    iii)Formulate MCH&FP target for the employees in the field.
    iv)Ensure implementation of EPI programme in Bangladesh Armed Forces.
    v)Control appointment/discharge/dismissal/transfer of Family Planning personnel in Armed Forces.
    vi)Maintenance of accounts obtained fro Family planning and will be responsible for collection of Family Planning materials from civil sources and their distributions.
    vii)Disburse pay of MCH&FP staffs working in the Armed Forces.
    viii)Acts as a record office by:
    a)Service record preservation of all employees of MCH&FP.
    b)Also preserve the record of leave, salary, increment of salary, recreation allowances etc.
